I could be talking about anything!

Is my sub-conscience sleep taking the piss?

I just woke up from the strangest dream yet. The ground kept changing there was a type of trench in what looked like my uncles back patio area. I managed to escape out of this trench into a road.

This followed into a parking area behind some buildings.

Then I was having to fight some old school bullies to the death. With a large crowd around me. But before that could even start I heard police cars, so started running to get away over taking cars, then for some reason I was flying. At this point there was some narriator in my head as I flew around a long straight coastline. Then I headed straight up into the sky out to sea!

For some reason I held two plastic figures of batman and some purple woman.

It was as if I had invaded some kids mind, but surely it has to be my mind. Or is my mind taking the piss out of me and saying I should grow up??

Celts art and identity at the British Museum

I am amazed at the quality of a lot of peices in the exhibit. The ability of the ancient craftsmen or woman of these ancient Celtic tribes is astonishing in their accomplishment. I took just a few pictures but if you have a chance I do recommend a visit.

Had Jürgen Klopp agreed to join Liverpool months ago?

After reading Chris Bascombe’s (Liverpool get their man) article in today’s Daily Telegraph I get the impression a deal was probably negotiated a few months ago.

One part of his article really stuck out where he write “Despite suggestions that Klopp had already been appointed prior to Rodger’s dismissal…”

Bascombe is fairly well connected with Liverpool football club having friends who work for the club he receives a lot of insider knowledge. And I am sure he is used by the club to control part of what gets printed in the papers.

Liverpool wanted Klopp a year ago, so it was always on the cards, it was just a question of when. Obviously a contract had to be drawn up and that can very often take time to get right. So it’s obvious to me that was sorted out and near completion allowing Liverpool the freedom to fire Rogers and sign Klopp.

This not what I ordered Sir!

I am with my family in a hotel now owned by Laura Ashley for my Grandmas Birthday, she is 98 and going strong. We connected up a laptop and skyped my Uncle Harold who lives abroad.

My cousin ordered the same meal as me, but he wanted his steak cooked to a crips! I like mine bloody, but after sending his meal back twice he finally got his meal which was completly different to what I had! I had a small piece of steak on my plate, with a scattering of little veg.

However when my cuz got his meal dam, he got chips and onion rings also! With a bowl of extra veg!

I and my Grandma is 98! I bet she makes it to 100!

IS destruction of Palmyra saddens me.

I love history and ancient architecture but what IS has done to Palmyra truly saddens me. It’s not the first time that civilizations have wiped out other civilizations to leave only whispers of an unknown past. You have conquest, you have destruction, but this is true obliteration.

What I am confused at is that IS are destroying Islamic-Syrian-Persian identity. These places were used as places of worship by ancient Islam, so were blessed as sacred ground. There is also destruction of what IS call idols but are in fact most likely busts or full statues representing real people from the past. Ancient art destroyed, looted and sold.

I am truly sorry that the majority of the Syrian people have to leave the country they love because of this war. I just wish for IS to understand that they are not destroying our history but more likely their future.

R.I.P Wes

I was sad to hear today that Wes Craven had died. I considered him to be an innovator in the world of cinema on horror films.

I am not a big fan of horror films myself, but Craven was probably one of the few horror directors I was impressed with. His story telling, ability to shock along with comedy, was a combination that worked very well where few other directors came close to this style and format.

Craven has left us a legacy and I hope that we give him the respect he deserves.
