George Frideric Handel who was born in German moved and worked in London. You can visit his house at 25 Brook Street, Mayfair. Handel gained fame in the 16th century as being recognised as one of the best musicians of the day.
Although interesting, to me there seems a thinness about the house where Handel lived. The lack of furniture maybe, information around the venue. There were three girls playing music in one room and that was certainly interesting to listen too. I believe there is much room for improvement and as they plan to purchase the rest of the house and fully restore the house it sounds like a place to visit in the future.
I did find Hendrix flat far more interesting, hearing how he use to shop in John Lewis round the corner, there was so much more I could relate to here. Reading how he would order steak, chips, drink Mateus rose wine, now that’s food I could go for myself. There is a lot of his music I love to listen too. I also never realised how much classical music he listened too and had in his collection. I will have to listen to his music again to see if I can hear any influence there. Seeing his bedroom, which was helped put back to how it originally looked like with the help of his old girlfriend.
It was worth a visit just for that.
