I could be talking about anything!

Galaxy Empire on Google Play.

I downloaded the game to give it a try, played a bit and realised I have played a game almost exactly like this on the PC. None other than Empire Universe II.I am wondering how many elements seem to be copied, but Galaxy Empire is more of a dumbed down version with slicker graphics. Still I feel there might be some sort of copyright violation!

I was asking myself how the gameplay goes, but after the tutorial, building the few buildings, building a few ships, exploring a little bit of the galaxy then realising how dull this game really is.

You can’t conquer other planets, they purge guests and user accounts after a very short period. There is a chat room with rules that say you can’t discuss politics, religion and a couple of other things, which also makes that dull.

To be frank, no matter how slick you can make a game look, unless you get the gameplay right, which to me is wrong on a multiple number of levels you haven’t got a good game. To date, Galaxy Empire has to be the most boring game I have ever played.

10 pence for a shopping bag in my local WH Smiths

I only brought one magazine but the woman in the store had a fair cheek to try and charge me 10 pence for a shopping bag. I found it disgusting and suprised to find the group is actually making a profit.

If they are making a profit as a group, maybe my local store is making a loss! Who knows, only their books would tell me that. But I sent an email to the customer services hoping for a responce.

YouTube app comes to PS3

Previously PS3 users had to use Youtube through the playstation internet browser. Now for those people that love to watch movies on Youtube they get a better app, with pairing abilities.

The refresh rate, and the rate at which you can download and watch top quality movies is impressive. However the major draw-back has to be the loss of the index system. Via your computer or laptop it’s harder to browser through collections, you might be after something, but you might not be sure of what you want.

For just simple browsing the youtube digital library seems to have taken two steps backwards. But at least they are going forward by intruducing the app to the PS3.

I for one feel there is much, much room for improvement, lets just hope they can fix the issues which I have stated.

As the snow drifts down…

I am left wondering when will winter stop! I thought I saw a glimps of spring last week with the dafs and the tulips rising up through the ground. Yet my hopes of the winter gone, have been dashed.

My heating is yet still on, I need to keep warm and the price of the bill has gone up!

Yet I always beleive that a harder winter leaves from a stronger summer, although later, I am sure December 2013 is going to be a warm one. I bet people will be wearing t-shirts and shorts.

As for me, I guess it’s time to curl up with my book or play out some time on the playstation, because when it’s snowing, I really don’t wish to go anywhere.

PS4 Lunch

Have been watching the PS4 launch and it feels more about the games rather than the machine. Although the graphics engine does sound impressive and you can take games on the move with different devices such as the PS Vita. There does seem to be a lack of the console.

A few games stand out and one stood out to me which I liked the look of which was Watch Dogs. The game interface looked a lot like that used on Assassin’s Creed and the game setting seemed a lot like the show Person of Interest.

Many of the other games looked impressive, but there didn’t seem much of a fresh feel.  Everything felt more about connectivity and making money. Overall I was unimpressed.

How rude are your neighbours?

There is a young married couple above me and at times they play really loud music. I’ve gone round the side, rung the bell and got no reply. I know they are up there, I just get ignored. How on earth can these people have such loud music. Drives me nuts at times and it feels like I can’t do anything about it.  How can you relax with 20 decibels bouncing down onto you?

Red Tails review.

What drew me to this film was the fact that George Lucas and Lucas Arts helped make it happen. I had no idea of the history about the African-American squadron nor that Jim Crow Law would go so far as to separate and make such a squadron. I found the film enjoyable all-though at times stale. The dialog at points I found far to modern and the music didn’t seem to match the era. Cinematography was very impressive, flight and fighting scenes all very impressive.

One annoying problem with the movie is there isn’t any subtitles provided for the little bit of German when it is spoken. Other than that, not a bad film.

Is the UK running a tax except workforce?

I know London is cosmopolitan but when I am in a restaurant getting my order in it helps if I can understand the waitress. With such a thick European accent then other waiters talking in a language you don’t understand, you have to wonder if part of the damage to our economy is not giving jobs to British citizens and allowing Europe to work for us. Thus the money paid in wages is going into European pockets and back across the channel into Europe. I can only assume the British government is getting less tax due.
