I’ve decided to block boomsbeat.com on my router due to the fact that the website wanted to upload two files to my computer, the first being GmlujqCrx0s.swf and the second being JtBuV7ccOZ0.swf
I don’t know what they are other than they are shockwave files, but no website should be trying to upload files to your computer. So this is a warning to my few readers to stay away from that website.
Way back in 1995 two students (John Vechey and Brian Fiete) created a computer game they called Attack Retrieve Capture which they then hosted on a network called Hoopy Entertainment.
This game was effectively a multiplayer game where people around the world with an internet connection could join teams and fight against each other with little flying saucer ships. Before the likes of Modern Warfare and other online games in which eSports has evolved into today. The community then on this game started their own leagues in order to capture the flag and crown the top clan.
Effectively this might have been one of the first ever games to host large numbers of players fighting this style of game. A standard game normally consists of eight players in a 4v4 match. There were other maps that could host 32 players against each other and there were one or two maps that could house 64 players against each other. That’s a lot of players attacking each other in their little ships and maybe this is the historical aspect which has been over-looked by the current industry of techno wizards.
At its height in the 1990s the game had a user base of a few thousand, not a lot but it could have done better if it wasn’t so miss-managed by the companies that brought the game and then swallowed it up into the downfall of Sierra Entertainment.
Sadly, the game is no longer with us, but there are other forms of it out there and the community has passed on. However, it could be said because of the games unique ability for multiplayer it could have been the first to have such high player numbers facing off against each other. Only history will know.

I just brought an LG SK1 sound bar for my LG TV and when it arrived it didn’t come with an optical lead! Surely when the only two options are Bluetooth with newer TVs and optical for the slightly older ones like I have you would of thought they would of supplied you with an optical lead.
So out I went to John Lewis to buy one. I got back and connected it up! Or so I thought I had done it all properly. I couldn’t work out what I was doing wrong so I phoned up LG customer support and went through all the options on the phone with him.
Nothing was working, he asked his boss and the reply was… have you taken the caps off the lead!!
OMG! I did not know there were two tiny caps on the end of the lead, nothing was written on the box nor was there any leaflet in the box for the lead telling me there were any caps on the ends to be removed.. For all the technical problems I thought I was having it’s down to… simple not taking all the packaging off!
I had to turn off the built in speakers on the TV, but at least I got better sound quality for watching movies and such.
It started off so well in my opinion, gritty, harsh, shocked me a bit, but this weekend I have just binged watched the whole series while suffering with a cold.
It seems there are less and less charming super heroes on TV. In one way I was hooked, in another way, I would look up stuff and play a few mobile games while watching the show.
I have never watched the cartoon version, nor do I know the story, but here the story revolves around a character called Rachel also known by Raven. With Robin breaking away from Batman in the lead. The other characters I don’t really know what to make of them.
At times, this jumped back and forth between the story-arcs that seemed to throw me off. Why are we going here? Are we going there? There were stages in this show that touched subjects like child abuse that I really didn’t want to know and wished a fair chucked wasn’t written in to the script.
For me it was too gritty, too dark, hardly a whisper of honour and overall made me feel a little sicker than I already am. If I rated this show, I would probably give a 5.5 out of 10. There was some very good acting, not bad special effects, but at times, the explosions you could tell looked animated which took away some score, but for me the story seemed a bit convoluted. Good luck if you want to watch this.
Having not gone to the cinema in a while I decided to choose Equalizer II. I wasn’t disappointed, it was a good movie, I wouldn’t call it a great movie know. Again we are back with Mr McCall, brooding, angry, but with a smile. The same gags seem to have continued from the first film, however I felt the ebb and flow of the first film made that a really good film. I like the way the characters developed in the first film, there was also a mystery about the main character.
We start off on a train to Istanbul, a little interchange about a story of kidnap, then straight into the action. Then it’s straight back to America with half the audience none the wiser of what just happened!
At times there are good interchanges between Denzel Washington characters approach to situations and people. At bad times, the film seems to ponder too much at points which leave you a feeling of boredom.
And the main story? Well, I didn’t quite understand why his past army buddies were killing off old friends. There seemed to be this massive plot hole which leaves you thinking.. “What the fuck just happened to get here?”
The lack of back story in this movie doesn’t help at all, the first film in the series didn’t matter so much as that left you with a void of wanting to know more. Now we are at a situation where Antonie Fuqua who did such a good job with the first film has let the audience down with a lack of explanation to what just happened.
There was nothing wrong with the action and the final part of the movie was excellently filmed in the sweeping stormy weather. It’s worth a watch if you have seen the first film, however I am only going to give this a score of 2.5 out of 5 due to the massive plot holes!
I just woke up from a bit of a nightmare! From what I remember of my dream is I saw this guy get into a car and had a knife with him and I was going to report it to the police. But the car came back round as I had my mobile out and this guy got out,
It felt so real, so scary the guy had a knife against me, after what seemed a lifetime I work up scared to return to sleep.
I don’t know where this dream came from, was it the news? Reporting every knife crime that has happened in London or something deeper? Hopefully this horrible feeling in my gut will pass…
I loved the 1978 Superman film when I first saw it in the late 80s. I had never seen or knew about DC Comics but this was the first film to introduce me to a whole new world of super heroes.
Margot Kidder was a strong lead as Lois Lane, the character had strength with that kind softness which was very attractive to the silver screen.
Although I don’t remember you in much else other than Superman you will be missed.

Years ago, I mean a very very long time ago when I was young we had a Commodore 64 and I had many favorite games, certain musics stood out for me, but there was one game called Star Lifter and I always loved the bit style music, I always thought it could be updated to a rock track.

Last Friday I was in Temple walking through Fleet Street and come upon St. Dunstan in the West. So I thought I would head inside for a look. It’s an impressive church in the heart of the city but sadly it also felt very neglected.
There was an eerie feel to the place, the pollution from all the passing traffic outside had soaked its way deep into the church. This effect darkened the place which would of been a lot brighter if had been looked after.
The bench cushions looked well used and could do with replacing, so I sat at the back on a bench that didn’t have one looking across hoping for someone to rescue this place. They are trying to raise millions to repair the church tower, I can’t spare that much, but I did donate a few quid in the collection box on the way out.
